Course Design

What’s a micro-competency and its purpose?
For each competency (overarching concept found within your exam’s framework), there are many micro-competencies (the most granular level of a competency). To this end, we have intentionally designed and organized knowledge check questions and learning resources that align with each micro-competency, so you have opportunities to learn about and practice each aspect of each broader competency within your exam’s framework.
With this design, you’ll be able to identify your areas of strength and areas for growth at the most granular level as you progress throughout the course, ensuring that you have a clear understanding of what you need to focus on before taking your certification exam.
Which assessments will I take in the course?
You will undergo pre-diagnostic and post-diagnostic assessments within the test preparation course. The pre-diagnostic assessment determines your pathway through a knowledge check that includes the same number of multiple-choice and constructed response questions on the licensure exam. The post-diagnostic assessment serves as a prerequisite for the final benchmark.
Will I need to create a study plan?
We offer customized study plans based on the first diagnostic assessment that you will take in the test preparation course. After the diagnostic assessment is completed, you will be able to view and export your report which will become your study guide. You may find that you already mastered several content areas, so you will want to shift your focus to those areas that you have not yet mastered to prepare for your certification exam.
