Technology Requirements

As a Teach Us candidate, you are required to have a basic working knowledge of the internet, computer literacy, and word processing skills. You will also need reliable access to the following technology:

  • Strong internet connection (internet speed: 1.5 Mbps download, 750 Kbps upload)
  • Mac or PC desktop or laptop computer
    • For best performance, access your course with a computer five years old or newer with at least 1GB of RAM
  • Google Chrome (latest version)
  • Webcam
  • Speakers and microphone or headset with microphone
  • Microsoft Office (Microsoft Basics)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader can be used for viewing PDF files offline: https://get.adobe.com/reader/

When accessing your course(s), we recommend using Google Chrome.

HonorLock, accessed through Canvas, will be used for taking the Benchmark exam

Basic Technology and Skills Requirements

To prepare for success with your Teach Us courses, you will need a basic understanding of how to do the following:

  • Access the internet using a computer browser
  • Install Chrome extensions and computer applications
  • Download, save, open, print, and fill material found online
  • Compose effective email/course messages and attach files
  • Write and edit with a word processor, such as Notepad, MS Word, etc.
  • Submit files and/or text to appropriate assignment drop boxes
  • Use web conferencing tools, such as Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, and BigBlueButton
  • Learn new computer skills
