Minimum Skills Requirement

Necessary technical knowledge and digital literacy information skills for distance learning.

Candidates are required to have a basic working knowledge of the Internet, computer literacy, and word processing skills. All TU candidates will need reliable access to the following technology:

  • Strong Internet connection (Internet speed: 1.5 Mbps download, 750 Kbps upload)
  • Mac or PC desktop or laptop computer - For best performance, access your course with a computer five years old or newer with at least 1GB of RAM.
  • Chrome 109 or 110 browsers (Chrome Update)
  • Webcam
  • Speakers and Microphone or Headset with Microphone
  • Microsoft Office (Microsoft Basics)

Required Course Software and Applications

When accessing the course, it is recommended to use Google Chrome as the Internet browser of choice. It is an expectation that candidates take the time to learn how to access and use the technology through the support provided. The following additional software and applications are required for the successful completion of this course:

  • Google Chrome (latest version): https://www.google.com/chrome/
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (latest version) can be used for viewing PDF files offline: https://get.adobe.com/reader/
  • TU Platform, initial login for course access. - GoReact, accessed through Canvas, will be used for capturing videos.
  • simSchool - Learner-facing Resources
  • Compose effective e-mail/course messages and attach files.
  • HonorLock, accessed through Canvas will be used for taking the Benchmark exam.
